Acedeck Product Transparency Update: Motor Reliability & Our Commitment to Riders

At Acedeck, we believe that building high-performance products requires more than innovation. It requires responsibility, transparency, and a commitment to continuously improve.

Recently, we have seen renewed discussion and questions from riders regarding motor magnet-related issues. We would like to take this opportunity to provide a clear update and address these concerns directly.

Regarding the Previous DXW Motor Magnet Issue

Last year, we publicly clarified the cause and solution regarding a specific batch of DXW motors that experienced issues under certain riding conditions.

After investigation, we identified the root cause as a material change made by DXW, one of the world's largest electric motor suppliers, without prior communication with us.

Specifically, the material of the internal magnet retaining ring was changed. In a small number of specific motor models, under prolonged high-intensity riding and continuous vibration, there was a low-probability risk that the retaining ring could gradually loosen.

If the retaining ring became detached, it could enter the gap between the rotor and stator, interfering with normal rotation and potentially causing the motor to lock and stop functioning.

Because Acedeck boards are designed with higher performance output and are often used in more demanding riding environments, the potential risk was more likely to appear compared with lower-performance applications using the same motor batch.

How We Handled the Issue

Once the cause was confirmed, we immediately took action:

  • Replaced all potentially affected motors in our inventory.
  • Proactively provided replacement motors free of charge to customers who experienced related symptoms.
  • Supported riders throughout the replacement process to ensure their boards could return to normal operation.

We did not wait for riders to bear the cost of a supplier-related issue. Our responsibility has always been to stand behind our products and our community.

Important: Current Acedeck Boards Are NOT Affected

We want to clearly state:

All currently sold Acedeck electric skateboards are not affected by this motor magnet issue.

The previous DXW motor batch issue has been addressed, and affected or potentially affected users have already received replacement solutions.

Riders can confidently enjoy their Acedeck boards knowing that current production models do not carry this known issue.

If You Notice Any Abnormal Motor Noise

Although current Acedeck products are not affected by this issue, we always encourage riders to pay attention to their equipment.

If you notice unusual motor sounds, abnormal vibration, or any unexpected behavior, please stop riding and contact our support team immediately:

Early communication allows us to diagnose issues quickly and provide the best possible solution.

Listening, Learning, and Improving

Like any brand with a growing global user base, Acedeck has experienced product challenges in the past—and we do not deny that.

What defines a brand is not whether unexpected issues ever occur, but how those issues are handled, documented, and improved upon.

Real rider feedback, including criticism and suggestions, plays an important role in helping us refine our products and customer support processes.

Innovation requires real-world testing. Taking the safest route by simply copying existing designs may reduce risks, but that is not what Acedeck represents.

We believe progress requires responsibility. Every new technology must go through continuous testing, refinement, and improvement—and we are committed to that journey.

Moving Toward Greater Control and Reliability

This experience has also reinforced an important direction for Acedeck: developing greater control over critical components.

While working with experienced industry suppliers allows us to deliver advanced products, certain variables in external supply chains remain outside our direct control.

That is why we continue investing in our own engineering and manufacturing capabilities, including the development of our in-house technologies , allowing us to achieve higher standards of performance, consistency, and long-term reliability.

Since the beginning of this year, we are taking that commitment further with the introduction of the Acedeck® VORTEX™ Motor—a fully in-house developed motor platform designed specifically for high-performance electric skateboards.

Unlike conventional off-the-shelf solutions, the VORTEX™ Motor was developed from the ground up by the Acedeck R&D team, combining real-world rider data, engineering improvements, and years of performance testing.

Over the past three years, our engineers analyzed extensive motor performance and failure data from electric skateboard riders worldwide. This research helped us identify the industry's common weak points and develop a motor built around one goal:

Maximum performance with long-term reliability.

Next-Generation Torque

The Acedeck® VORTEX™ Motor family includes our newly developed:

  • 6475 Motor
  • 6485 Motor
  • 7290 Motor

Each motor is engineered specifically for the demands of electric skateboarding—from explosive acceleration and high torque output to sustained performance under extreme riding conditions.

Key Engineering Improvements

Reinforced Motor Shaft & End-Cap Structure
Designed to withstand higher loads, repeated impacts, and aggressive riding conditions.

Six Grade 12.9 High-Strength Fasteners
Providing nearly 100% structural strength improvement compared with conventional designs, improving overall motor rigidity and durability.

Upgraded Magnet Fixation System
A redesigned internal fixation process improves magnet stability and long-term reliability, even under high vibration and high-performance use.

A New Standard Across Acedeck

The Acedeck® VORTEX™ Motor represents our commitment to developing more critical technologies in-house and delivering greater consistency, reliability, and performance for riders worldwide.
Moving forward, all Acedeck electric skateboards will gradually transition to the VORTEX™ Motor platform, bringing our latest motor technology to more riders across the lineup.
Because true performance is not only measured by peak numbers.

It is measured by how confidently a product performs—ride after ride, mile after mile.

Our Commitment

At Acedeck, we do not believe in hiding challenges. We believe in facing them, learning from them, and building better products because of them.

Transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement are the foundation of our relationship with riders.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Acedeck, shared feedback, and pushed us to keep improving.

We will continue building electric skateboards that deliver not only extreme performance—but also the confidence and reliability riders deserve.
